We have unlisted Stephania root until further notice due to recently received test results regarding Stephania root powder supplied by us.
To be extra cautious, we are including all Stephania root products in our voluntary recall.
We are offering a refund on a case by case basis for any Stephania products (root powder, slices, tincture, or products containing the aforementioned) purchased from us from July 2017 to March 2018.
The test was not performed in Canada, hence the results are not acceptable for local regulatory purposes, nor are they necessarily acceptable in other countries, e.g. the country of origin. The results indicated the Stephania does not appear as expected; that oxalate crystals are present in clusters similar to those seen in Aristolochia species, which is perceived to be a common adulterant of Stephania. Note, this is an indicator, not a certainty. We however feel a recall is warranted until further notice.
If you have purchased any Stephania products from us, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject header: Stephania Recall and provide proof of purchase.
Although we are confident that this issue is of little or no clinical significance, our commitment to quality and purity makes it imperative to discontinue any questionable products.
We regret any inconveniences that this may cause. As always we remain steadfast in our support of our customers.
