Properties and Uses:
An amorphous glucoside; salicylic acid; sugars; invertin. Diuretic; antiseptic; expectorant; emetic; slightly astringent. Formerly used internally for several conditions; but now recommended only for external use as an application for skin infections. Contra-indications POISONOUS berries: external use only.
